Founding Attorney,
Kavon Smith
Kavon Smith is a Florida trial attorney who represents property owners in complex insurance and construction disputes. His practice focuses exclusively on first-party property insurance claims and construction defect litigation—helping homeowners, business owners, and community associations hold insurers and builders accountable.
Kavon earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of South Florida and went on to earn his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. After law school, he joined a prominent plaintiff-side litigation boutique where he quickly developed a reputation for taking on large insurers and national homebuilders. Kavon was a core member of the team that launched and built the firm’s property insurance litigation department from the ground up.
Over the years, he has handled a wide range of residential and commercial property damage claims—from hurricane and fire losses to pipe bursts, roof failures, and hail damage cases. He also has extensive experience litigating construction defect claims involving stucco systems, roofing assemblies, and building envelope issues. He has represented clients in both state and federal court, as well as arbitration.
Kavon lives in Palm Harbor with his partner, Meghan, and their three children—two daughters and a son. He takes pride in fighting for families and property owners across Florida who find themselves in unfair disputes with their insurance companies or left to deal with the consequences of faulty construction. When he's not working, Kavon enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and staying involved in his local community.
